Gold rush

Yesterday we had a crazy storm coming in from the west, with strong winds and lots of snow. Today the wind had calmed down. It was time for the gold rush.

The white gold; tons of it. Awesome!

Little boy and I took our skis and went out in the mountains. We had a full day of off-piste skiing in the powder. It continued to snow all day. Great. Best day of skiing so far this season.

(Picture taken today. The skier is little boy, and the photographer is me.)

  2. Lucky you. The rain has washed away most of the snow we got on Sunday morning. I had a mini lake in my garden at night. The local micro-climate here is getting way too mild.

    1. Rain is wasted precipitation. No fun, just makes you wet

  3. We are experiencing bipolar weather in Amarillo. It can't seem to stick with one season for two consecutive days.
Glad you enjoy your weather so much. Our snow melts too quickly for skiing.

    1. There are other things to enjoy in Texas. I have had some very nice hikes in the south and the west, Big Bend and Delaware Mountains

  4. That sounds like fun! Although I've never gone skiing and if I did, I'd probably be on my butt most of the time. haha

  7. Envious! And I say that as someone who lives in the desert. ;-)
