A-Z Challenge: Reflections

This was the 2nd time I did the A-Z Challenge. The first time, the theme was random. This year my theme was religion. It was a nice theme because it's it's quite interesting and challenging, and a source of an endless number of posts.

I tried to approach my theme in different ways; with humorous, sarcastic, provocative and serious posts. Sometimes it triggered interesting discussions in the comments. I appreciate that, and also that people were respectful and decent. Not net-trolls, although the theme as such may sometimes trigger strong feelings.

Unfortunately, April was a somewhat busy month. I spent 1 week on Easter vacation, skiing in the mountains, with no proper Internet connection (only cell phone), and one week business travel to the Arctic. Sometimes I had a hard time getting my posts published in due time, and I definitely got too little time to visit other participants. however, I found a few cool blogs that I followed throughout, in particular Write with FeySquare Pegs and Tamara Narayam. The theme of the atter was one of my favorite subjects; mathematics. Maybe I'll pick that theme next time.

That's all for now, but as Arnold Scwarzenegger said: I'll be back >:)

(Skiing season ended yesterday. Now I will spend more free time in town. It's nice a this time of the year, when it hardly gets dark at all. That's great. I like the light summer nights in the north, but I will miss the snow and the skiing. Picture from my archives, taken in my hometown on a night in May a couple of years ago.)

  1. Tamara had a really great theme.
You know my feelings on the subject of your theme and I hope my responses were fair.

    1. Yes, I know, and I appreciate your comments and opinions, though they were often different from mine. Learning takes place by listening to different opinions.

  2. Thank you for the mention, CA! :D Tamara's theme was unique. She made math fun, which is a first for me...I'm not much of a math lover.

Your posts really got me thinking and it was interesting to read the replies for your posts.

    1. Glad you enjoyed it.
Actually, I don't think religion is a very difficult theme to discuss, maybe because I see from the side.

  5. Provocative? Yes, but that's what made this one of my favorites. I like to hear from someone not afraid to "speak" their mind when there are plenty out there who have vastly different opinions and beliefs.

    1. I'm glad you like things a little bit provocative. I do that too. Maybe I'll turn to politics next. Just read that Senator Bernie Sanders will run for president of the US, which will be a refreshing contribution to the upcoming campaigns >:)

  7. Cold as Heaven is definitely my favourite new blog, and I have the A to Z to thank for that. I appreciate your moderate and reasonable atheism, I can't stand arrogant, ignorant and disrespectful atheists, (and I can tell you I've encountered plenty of those) nor can I stand Christians of the same ilk (and let me tell you I've encountered plenty of those as well).
As my top commentor on Square Pegs, I'd like to offer you a free copy of one of my novels if you're interested. Drop me an email if you want one. devolution_dacairns@hotmail.com Well done on surviving the 2015 challenge.

    1. Thanks. I was lucky to find your blog as well.

I don't like arrogance either. No reason to be arrogant, unless you're the best in the world in what your doing, such as Zlatan Ibrahimovic or PAM Dirac.

    1. Religion can be touchy to some, but that's their problem, not mine. I just enjoy discussing it, and laughing at all the crazy things that people do in the name of their gods >:)

    1. I'm not religious either, unless atheism is considered a religion. I just find religion interesting and entertaining >:)
