Pi day
Today, 14. March, 3/14, math lovers (including me) are celebrating Pi day. There are also some people celebrating Pi day on 22. July, since 22/7=3.14 (approximately). What is your main Pi day?
(The formula is the volume V of a sphere with radius R.)
You know I'm a mathematician. I celebrate on 3/14. I'm excited about next year when I will REALLY celebrate on 3/14/15 at 9/26! I'm such a nerd. So glad I found another one! Tina @ Life is Good A to Z Team @ Blogging From A to Z April Challenge 2014
I've heard "Happy Pi Day" several times today, and not only from my group of friends. This restores some of my faith for Americans. (some)
ReplyDeleteI try to restore my faith in the human race, not just the Americans.
DeleteIn the late 1800s, American law-makers tried to define Pi=3.2. It's the famous Indiana Pi Bill, which was (fortunately) never approved >:)

Nice to meet another math nerd. My background is theoretical physics, which is basically applied math.
DeleteYes, in 2015 we can celebrate Pi day with more decimals, the only chance in this century >:)
